Skin Base Intense Pulsed Light Hair reduction

Skin Base Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatment is a non-invasive procedure that uses high-intensity light to address various skin conditions, such as unwanted hair, pigmentation, thread veins, redness, open pores, uneven skin texture, rosacea, and fine lines.

How it Works:

For hair reduction, the treatment emits light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, which turns into heat and destroys the hair follicle. This prevents future hair growth. Hair isn't immediately removed but falls out over one to three weeks. For pigmentation and age spots, IPL targets melanin, and for thread veins, it targets haemoglobin.

Preparation:

• Avoid tanning a month before treatment.
• Ideally, hairs should be 1-2mm long, so shave beforehand.
• Avoid waxing, plucking, threading, and bleaching 8 weeks prior to and between treatments.

During Treatment:

• A glass applicator emits pulses of light onto the skin.
• The sensation is akin to a rubber band snapping against the skin.

Post-Treatment Care:

• Avoid heat, swimming in chlorinated water, shaving, UV exposure, and perfumed products for various periods after treatment.
• Use a sunblock of SPF 30+.
• The skin may be red and warm; this is normal and should subside. A cold compress or soothing creams like aloe vera can be used.
• Avoid makeup for 24 hours post-treatment.

Effectiveness:

• Generally, multiple sessions are required for optimal results.
• The treatment is considered to provide permanent hair reduction.
• It works best on dark hair and is not effective for red, auburn, or white hair.

Side Effects:

• Generally minimal, but can include redness and rarely small blisters.
